Acousmetry: a new artistic language

Abstract
The paper introduces a new discipline, acousmetry,
suitable to represent and make “visible” geometrical shapes
with sounds. Such a discipline, well formalised, presents
new capabilities of artistic expression. After some considerations
about the role of the acousmetry in the
artistic perception, its theoretical innovative performances
background is quickly sketched, and examples are provided
in its use for new musical composition, for ballets, and
